In Piano Lab, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of music and music theory through engaging keyboard-based activities.  Students will explore elements of pitch, rhythm, and music history while learning the basics of piano technique.  Fun games and hands-on exercises bring energy and creativity to this group setting.  No piano is required at home.

Tap is a rhythmic and energetic style of dance that turns your feet into instruments!  Our Intermediate Tap class teaches dancers how to create intricate sounds through footwork, while building timing, coordination, and musicality.  Students will learn a variety of tap steps, combinations and rhythms, from classic to contemporary styles.  Tap strengthens listening skills, enhances precision and encourages self expression through movement and sound.  This class is a fantastic way to develop confidence and stage presence by building on prior experience!  Prior tap experience is required, as well as approval from Jubilee.

Teen Musical Theatre

Step into the spotlight!  Our Teen Musical Theatre Class combines acting, singing and dancing to help students become well-rounded performers.  Students will learn choreography inspired by Broadway shows while exploring character development, practicing stage presence and storytelling through movement.  This class encourages creativity ,confidence and collaboration while building performance technique in a fun and supportive environment.  Perfect for aspiring performers or anyone who loves the magic of musicals, this class brings the stage to life on number at a time!

A favorite of Ms. Mary’s while growing up in Jubilee, this workshop gives dancers an opportunity for added support, encouragement and technique in addition to their leveled ballet class(es).  Perfect for dancers eager to grow in grace, discipline and expression. This workshop nurtures confidence and prepares students for the next season of their ballet journey.  Students will refine their technique, artistry and musicality while working on combinations and choreography tailored to their individual level.  Students must be taking at least one other Jubilee ballet class.

Jubilee’s Beginning Ballet class introduces young dancers to the foundational elements of ballet in a joyful and encouraging environment.  Through imaginative movement, musicality, and age-appropriate technique, children will develop coordination, posture, strength and confidence. This class will include gentle warm-ups, movement games, ballet technique, music exploration and an introduction to recital performance.  Whether your child dreams of the stage or simply loves to move, this class is a beautiful beginning to their ballet journey.

Jubilee’s Ballet/Tap Combo Class offers young dancers the best of both worlds; graceful ballet and energetic tap!  Both of these dance genres are combined into one lively and well-balanced class.  Designed for early learners, this class introduces the beauty of ballet technique alongside the rhythm and excitement of tap dancing.  Students will explore ballet basics to build strength, coordination and poise as well as tap fundamentals that teach timing and control.  With a blend of structure and imagination, dancers will have the opportunity to express themselves while developing musicality, body awareness and confidence.

Modern I/II introduces young dancers to the expressive world of modern dance, a style rooted in emotion, founded in movement and creative exploration.  Building on basic dance technique, this class blends elements of ballet, jazz and contemporary forms.  Modern dance emphasizes fluidity, breath and connection to music and space.  Students will learn foundational modern techniques while storytelling through movement.

Modern Dance is a powerful and expressive style that blends technique, creativity and emotion.  This class is perfect for dancers who enjoy physical movement, intricate choreography and the freedom of self-expression.  Dancers will strengthen their technique while exploring dynamic movement, developing personal artistry and enhancing overall performance quality.  Elements of improvisation and creative exploration are introduced to deepen the dancer’s connection to music. Students must also be registered in a ballet class at Jubilee.

This acrobatic dance add-on is designed to complement our Modern III/IV Class. Students will learn how to blend strength, flexibility and controlled movement with dance technique.  Dancers will learn foundational acro skills such as balances, rolls and basic tumbling while focusing on seamless transitions and safe execution. The emphasis is on fluidity and integrating acrobatic elements artistically into modern choreography.  This add-on enhances performance quality, builds confidence and helps dancers develop the control and agility needed for more advanced movement.

Intermediate Modern & Acro Dance

This dynamic class blends the expressive movement of modern dance with the strength and agility of acrobatics.  Dancers will explore modern technique through floorwork, contractions, releases and improvisation, while building emotional expression and personal style.  Integrated into the class are acro skills such as balances, walkovers, rolls and partner work.  Safety, control and smooth transitions will be emphasized.  This class is fit for intermediate-level dancers looking to expand their versatility, increase flexibility and strength and deepen their connection to movement both technically and artistically.  Dancers must be simultaneously enrolled in a ballet class, along with a teacher recommendation.

Ballet II

Ballet II is the second level in Jubilee’s progressive leveled ballet curriculum, designed to build upon foundational technique with increased focus on alignment, stretch, and musicality.  Students will continue to develop their vocabulary of ballet steps while refining posture, coordination and grace.  This level introduces more complex combinations at the barre and centre, preparing dancers for the demands of upper-level training.  Advancement to Ballet III is by instructor recommendation once the Ballet II curriculum has been confidently mastered.

Jubilee Youth Choir

Students in Jubilee Choir will experience the joy of singing with friends as they participate in regular weekly rehearsals which will include engaging warmups, rhythm and solfege games, and performance preparation. Students will gain experience singing in unison and two-part harmonies, with occasional opportunity to sing in three-part harmonies.  Jubilee Youth Choir will perform at all Jubilee recitals and have occasional additional performance opportunities throughout the school year.

Ballet I

Ages 6+ or  by evaluation

Ballet I is the first level of formal ballet technique beyond the introductory stage.  Dancers in this class begin structured training in classical ballet, focusing on proper alignment, vocabulary and foundational technique at the barre and in centre. Students must demonstrate mastery of Ballet I curriculum to progress to Ballet II, with advancement determined by the instructor.  Dancers ages 7 and up who are new to ballet may register for this class or schedule a placement evaluation to determine the best level.

Lyrical Praise Dance is a beautiful and expressive class that blends the fluid movement of lyrical dance with the heart of worship.  Dancers will learn to use their bodies as instruments of praise, combining technique with purpose to tell stories of faith, hope and love through movement.  While technique is developed, the primary focus is on expression, intentionality and dancing from the heart.  This mixed-level class welcomes dancers who have a heart for worship, whether they are new to dance or have years of experience.  Lyrical Praise Dance is a powerful outlet for spiritual and creative growth.

Jubilee Performance Company

Our unique Performance Company is a musical theatre troupe dedicated to artistry, technique and professionalism in a genre that encompasses theatre, vocal arts and dance. JPC is well known within the community. We perform at local venues and community events as well as one theme park annually. This is a full year commitment.  Students must be committed to practicing material at home for in class auditions and assignments. In addition, students must be enrolled in a minimum of one other Jubilee dance technique class.

 

We strive to teach professionalism in Musical Theatre performance technique to prepare students for that field while giving back to our communities! JPC members carry the privilege and responsibility to represent Jubilee Performing Arts to our community and beyond. Please be sure to purchase the items listed below, we make our community debut early in the school year (October).

Storybook Ballet

Ages 3+

This is your tiny dancer's first introduction to ballet and creative movement. When we dance, we tell a story and students will learn how we use dance, musicality and artistry to convey a story.  This class is ideal for children ages 3+.  Students will learn basic ballet technique as well as enjoy a brief story time in which they then turn the story into a dance with costumes. This class will also enjoy taking the big stage for the Spring recital!

Students at this level may begin enrollment in Pre-Pointe classes.

Students at this level are encouraged to enroll in Pre-Pointe/Pointe Fundamentals.

In Stretch, Sculpt, Stamina we combine therapeutic stretching techniques, cardio sculpting and strengthening exercises to fun music and new exercises. This is a fantastic class for dancers to take to enhance strength and flexibility.  It's also a fantastic class for non-dancers who want to improve their overall health and fitness. Each class is tailored slightly differently to focus on different areas. Get your morning off on the right start and join us!

Ballet V is a pre-professional level class designed for advanced dancers who have a strong foundation in classical ballet technique and a passion for refining their artistry.  Dancers at this level are expected to demonstrate discipline, strength, musicality and an increasing command of advanced vocabulary and movement quality.  Dancers will work on complex combinations that challenge their coordination and expression.  Students at this level should also take Pre-Pointe/ Pointe Fundamentals along with this class.

This class is designed to strengthen ballet dancers who are preparing to advance to Pointe.  Along with a recommendation from a Jubilee teacher, students must show physical readiness to begin their exciting Pointe journey.  Any established pointe students who desire extra technical training throughout the week are also encouraged to take this class.

Intermediate & Advanced Pointe

Along with a recommendation from a Jubilee instructor, this class requires solid ballet technique and physical attributes.  This includes proper strength, bone formation and placement. Pointe requires strong mental discipline and weekly consistency.  This class includes both barre and centre work. Students should begin with Pointe Fundamentals and take this class as a continuation of additonal time and advanced technique. Students are required to be enrolled in at least two other technique classes.

Intermediate/Advanced Ballet

This is an upper division class for mature Ballet dancers. This class must come with a teacher evaluation/recommendation. Students must have a firm understanding of classic technique and terminology, port de bras, épaulement, barre and centre technique. A strong knowledge of Ballet vocabulary is a necessity as well as the ability to execute foundations without teacher demonstration.  This class is for students who are ready for increasingly challenging combinations while adding musicality, choreography, and artistry to their ballet technique. Students must commit to good attendance and attend additional technique classes, including pointe/pointe fundamentals.
