Founder of Jubilee Youth Choir

Music & Choir Director

Ms. Julie

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia and have loved music for as long as I can remember. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from James Madison University and a master’s degree in Music Theory from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Since 2008, I have taught private piano lessons and worked as an accompanist for local choirs and music programs. I love helping young performers grow in their skills, confidence, and love of music.

My journey with Jubilee began as a dance mom when my daughters started taking classes here. After being invited to play piano for a theatre workshop, I quickly became involved in the performing arts program. I served as Music Director for Annie in 2022, where I had the opportunity to form a pit orchestra and provide our students with the unique experience of performing alongside live musicians. I later founded the Jubilee Youth Choir and now provide music direction for Jubilee productions throughout the year. What I love most about Jubilee is the way it combines excellence with kindness and a Christ-centered mission. I look forward to another year of helping students grow in confidence and artistry.

I’ve been married to my husband, John, since 2012, and we have four wonderful children. In my free time, I enjoy playing softball, working out, and cooking.

One passage that has been especially meaningful to me is Deuteronomy 30, which reminds us of God’s faithfulness, redemption, and unfailing love, no matter how far we may wander.
